    Dr. Nancy Dudek is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She received her MD from The University of Western Ontario in 1999. She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2004 in the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In 2005 she completed a Master of Education program at the University of Toronto.

    Career Orientation: Clinician-Scientist

    Dr. Lisa Duffett has been appointed to the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hematology at the Ottawa Hospital, effective January 2014. Dr. Duffett has also been appointed as an Associate Scientist within the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute in the Clinical Epidemiology program.

    Dr. Duffett completed her medical degree at Memorial University (2007). Her postgraduate education includes Internal Medicine training at Memorial University (2010) followed by a Hematology specialization at the University of Ottawa (2012), where she served as chief resident, and a Thrombosis sub-specialization at the University of Ottawa (2014). Dr. Duffett is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Internal Medicine and Hematology). Dr. Duffett also received research training through the University of Ottawa Clinical Investigator Program (2012-2014) and is a candidate for M.Sc., Epidemiology.

    Dr. Duffett practices Hematology at the Ottawa Hospital with a focus in benign Hematology and Thrombosis. Her research interest is in Thrombosis, in particular in the diagnosis and treatment of superficial vein thrombosis and patient advocacy and engagement in clinical research. Dr. Duffett is the principle investigator on a project to develop an evidenced based patient education program with the Ottawa Hospital Thrombosis Assessment and Treatment Unit, and is actively involved in developing patient engagement collaboration within the Canadian Venous Thromboembolic Clinical Trials and Outcomes Research group

    Faculty Career Path: Clinician Teacher

    Dr. Dugan is a Queen’s MD, Assistant Professor on a University career track of Clinician-teacher. She is the Site Chief for the Clinical Teaching Unit at the General Campus. She has held a variety of faculty positions relating to teaching and is currently co-chair of the Medicine Clerkship Program and Ottawa site coordinator for the Ontario International Medical Graduate Program. Her main areas of clinical interests are diabetes and obesity.

    Faculty Career Path: Clinician-Teacher

    Dr. Paula Enright is an Assistant Professor  in the Division of Palliative Care at the University of Ottawa.  She joined the division in October, 2012 and  practices with The Ottawa Hospital Palliative Care Team and the Palliative Rehabilitation Program at Bruyère Continuing Care.

    Dr. Enright holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology from McGill University and a Medical Degree from the University of Ottawa.  Upon completing her Family Medicine Residency training she practiced as a community family physician for three years prior to completing a fellowship in Palliative Medicine.

    Dr. Enright has a particular interest in opioid-induced hyperalgesia and is a committed clinician and teacher.

    Dr. Simone Fahim

    Faculty Career Path – Clinician Educator

    Dr. Simone Fahim completed her dermatology training at the University of Ottawa in 2005. She is a certified fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and an Associate of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Dermatology, University of Ottawa, and is involved in the teaching of medical students and dermatology residents. She also served as the Program Director of the Dermatology Residency Program at the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital from 2012 to 2014.

    Dr. Fahim is the Director, Ambulatory Teaching, MS3 Year. She runs a general dermatology clinic at the Parkdale Clinic, in addition to the Dermatology-Rheumatology Clinic with Drs. Smith and Milman at the Riverside Hospital. In addition to practicing general and cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Fahim has a special interest in contact dermatitis, genodermatosis and autoimmune diseases, particularly psoriasis and cutaneous lupus.
