Dr. David Grimes
Division Head Neurology
Dr. Grimes received his Doctorate in Medicine (Cum Laude) and completed his residency in Neurology at the University of Ottawa. He then spent two years (1997 to 1999) at the Toronto Hospital and the Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases as a research fellow in movement disorders and molecular genetics. He joined the Department of Medicine in Ottawa in 1999 and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa and an Associate Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.
Faculty Career Path – Clinician Investigator
Dr. Jodi Warman is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa and a Clinician-Investigator in the Department of Medicine. She completed her M.D. (2006) and residency in Neurology (2012) at the University of Ottawa. She has also completed research and clinical fellowships in neuromuscular disorders and electrophysiology (McGill) and neurogenetics (Ottawa). She is currently co-Director of the uOttawa Centre for Neuromuscular Disease (Clinical Research). Her clinical interests and research focus on new technologies to identify novel genetic causes for inherited myopathies/neuromuscular disorders and to translate these discoveries into improved patient care.
Dr. Christine De Meulemeester
Director Neurology Residency Program
Dr. De Meulemeester (nee Hitchcock) was born and raised in Toronto. She obtained her BScN from the University of Ottawa in 1987 and worked as a registered nurse on the neurology/neurosurgery ward at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, and in the cardiac recovery room and cardiac surgical unit at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute prior to attending medical school at McMaster University.
