About the Ottawa Blood Disease Centre

The Ottawa Blood Disease Centre (OBDC) team is composed of hematologists (medical doctors with specialized training in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of blood diseases), residents and fellows, managers, pharmacists, clinical nurses, social workers, dietitians, clinical research personnel and administrative support. The team works hard to provide the best possible patient care while also developing tomorrow’s leaders and practice-changing research.

30 physicians with specialties in general hematology, transfusion medicine, malignant hematology and thrombosis work at the OBDC. Many of our hematologists are also scientists and conduct important research that is shaping clinical practice.
