The Full-Time Medical Transcriptionist ensures that dictated medical reports for the Division of Nephrology are typed/prepared in a timely manner.

The successful incumbent will have:

  • Secondary School Diploma(Grade 12) or equivalent;
  • Community College Diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum 2 years of previous related experience;
  • Knowledge of medical terminology;
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Typing proficiency (60 wpm or greater);
  • Dictaphone experience (English dictating);
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment;
  • Proficient written communication, proofreading and editing skills required to draft or generate correspondence or documents;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Initiative, dedication, tact and diplomacy;
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information;
  • Excellent judgment, initiative and excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in speaking and comprehending both English and French is preferred;
