Skills Required:Hematologist at an Associate Professor level or higher; Bilingualism (French and English) an asset; Masters in Epidemiology or Education an asset; Eligible for licensure in Ontario.All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.


Job Duties:We seek an experienced hematologist with Bone Marrow Transplantation training to lead in clinical care, education and research in our Cellular Therapy program. The Division has three well-defined and successful clinical/research programs: Malignant Hematology, Thrombosis and Benign Hematology/Transfusion. The Malignant Hematology Program has disease groups focused in Lymphoma, Plasma Cell Disorders, Leukemia/MDS, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms and Cellular Therapy.


Additional Details:This position reports to the Head, Malignant Hematology Program and the Chief, Division of Hematology.

Our FACT accredited Cellular Therapy Program performs ~200 Hematopoietic Cell Transplants per year serving a large catchment area. Currently there are 6 full time academics and 15 support staff. The Cellular Therapy Program is a world leader in transplants for novel indications including MS, Stiff Person Syndrome and other auto-immune diseases. We are actively developing CAR-T cell therapies. The Division of Hematology has a vibrant Hematology Residency training program and Malignant Hematology Fellowships that both include Cellular Therapy teaching, training and research opportunities.The City of Ottawa, with its 1.2 million inhabitants, has the highest average income in Canada and provides a thriving multicultural and bilingual environment. Terms of Employment:

The income for this position is derived from a variety of sources including but not limited to clinical billings (fee-for-service), salary support (AFP/APP) as well as honorariums/stipends. Health and welfare benefits including extended health, dental and disability insurance as well as life insurance are offered to full-time physicians.
