Under the general direction of the Head of the Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the Ottawa Hospital/University of Ottawa, the successful applicant would join a group of six echocardiographers.Â The echocardiography laboratory performs over 21,000 studies a year, including more than 800 stress echocardiograms and approximately 1000 transesophageal echocardiograms. The facilities include state-of-the-art echocardiography systems and a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons accredited Level 3 Adult Echocardiography Fellowship Training Program.Â As well, the Ottawa Heart Institute has a large imaging team with dedicated cardiac CTA, SPECT,
Candidates must hold FRCPC certification in Cardiology or equivalent specialty certification and have Level 3 training in echocardiography.Â Candidates should have an interest and training in echocardiographic imaging in valvular heart disease and a proven track record in valvular heart disease research that includes peer-reviewed grants and publications in this field.Â Applicants for the clinician-scientist position must be at the professor level in rank, have MD and PhD degrees and have a significant publication record. Fluency in English and French would be considered a strong asset.

Terms of Employment:
The income for this position is derived from a variety of sources including but not limited to clinical billings (fee-for-service) and stipends for academic activities. Â The income for this position is estimated to be $300,000 – $350,000/year.
