Executive Administrative Office

The Department of Medicine Executive Administrative Office is located on the main floor of The Ottawa Hospital’s General Campus, M1840 – M1859. Sandra Wu

Executive Director & Chief Administrative Officer



  • Responsible for the design and implementation of Department strategic plan
  • Works directly with the Chair and Chief and sits on Executive, Division Head, Review, Recruitment and Finance committees
  • Oversees operations management of Department employees (Allocates space and approves admin staffing changes)
  • Allocates the Department uOttawa and The Ottawa Hospital budgets
  • Allocates and directs distribution of AFP funds via UMA divisional budgets

Krista Hind

Human Resources Manager



  • Manages the human resources requirements and activities of the Department
  • Responsible for physician contracts and IA’s as well as for the overall physician appointment process
  • Handles immigration process requirements
  • Manages/develops Department support staff HR services and programs

Clinical Research Methodologist and Facilitator

  • Provides Research Methodological advice on the design of clinical research studies to junior members of the DoM
  • Guides and supports DoM junior members in the preparation and writing of their research grant proposals (Research support initiative)
  • Provides Research Methodological advice and guidance on manuscript writing to DoM Residents (Publication accelerator initiative)
  • Establishes the liaison between DoM junior researchers and residents with members and resources from the Ottawa Method Centre (OHRI)
  • Facilitates the multidisciplinary participation in research projects between members of the DoM and Ottawa Methods Centre
