Educational Objectives:

1. To review the principles of professionalism –how they originated and why they are important.2. To understand how professionalism principles are important in the daily functioning of learners and teachers in our clinical and academic environments.3. To understand how to recognize and address unprofessional behaviours that contribute to unsafe learning environments such as “pimping”, the “silent treatment”, “fear based-learning” and “shame-based learning”.4. To understand how professionalism principles can be used to address transgressions and “uncivil behaviour” amongst learners and teachers.
