Educational Objectives:

1. The Bad: understand the neurobiology of empathy and recognize the consequences of bad empathic care.

2. The Ugly: recognize the link between physician empathy and burnout and why burnout is bad for patients as well as physicians.

3. The Good: appreciate how it is possible for physicians to become more empathic and to build their own resilience to improve professional empathy and reduce physician burnout.
