Department hosts medical student career night

The Department of Medicine hosted another very successful dinner and information night for 80+ medical students last night in the Atrium of Roger Guindon Hall.

Physicians from a variety of subspecialties presented an overview of what it’s like to practice on a day-to-day basis, including why they chose a specific specialty, what attributes are important in anyone considering a specific specialty, and how to balance career and personal life. Q&A round table sessions followed the individual presentations to facilitate an additional exchange of information and career exploration.

Many thanks to the uOttawa student Internal Medicine Interest Group Execs for their contributions to the evening and to Drs Wells, Forgie, Bourque, Dalziel,  Froeschl, Brown, Malcolm and Code for donating their valuable time, insight and great sense of humour.

Visit our Postgraduate Medical Education section for more information on the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program and Department of Medicine SubSpecialty Programs. Questions for Dr. Cathy Code, Program Director can be emailed to Odile Kaufmann at okaufmann@toh.on.ca.
