Assessing Trainees In The Workplace – Is Anyone Watching?

Educational Objectives:

  1. Understand basic concepts of assessment including challenges and opportunities in the workplace
  2. Recognize the importance of direct observation
  3. Be familiar with several potential tools to access clinical skills in the workplace such as the Mini-CEX and DOPS
  4. Recognize the potential pitfalls of assessment in the workplace that rely only on review of written notes and oral presentations
